With an area of over 128,000.000 sq mi, Maranhão is the largest of the top four kitesurfing states in northeastern Brazil. So it's not surprising that the state also has the longest coastline. Its dunes extend 43 miles along the coast and reach up to 20 miles inland. A must visit when you are on site.
